Villeena Villantheran

I am currently a Senior Doctoral Student at Adler University. I have completed all of my doctoral coursework and training, and am working on my dissertation. Dissertation is the final step in meeting my doctoral degree requirements. I provide in-person and online psychological assessment and treatment, under the direct supervision of Dr. Jennifer Campbell, RPsych.

I have a passion for working with youth and young adults (ages 8-30) from various sociocultural backgrounds. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, interpersonal difficulties, issues related to sexuality, and disordered eating

Therapeutically, I focus on building a strong relationship with clients by providing a safe and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore the internal and external barriers that cause emotional distress. I value being authentic with clients and tend to include humour and a healthy dose of fun in my work. I believe that through therapy, we can collaboratively explore your values and personal goals to empower you with the skills to build the life you want. Through our work together, I intend to help you recognize your inner resources so you can continue to draw on them as you go through the ups and downs of life!

My work with each individual is unique as I believe in tailoring the therapy process to fit your goals and needs. The evidence-based therapeutic approaches that I utilize most frequently are as follows:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Person Centered Therapy
