Do you avoid unpleasant feelings or situations that cause discomfort? ACT teaches you how to notice, accept, and embrace unpleasant thoughts, feelings, and siituations. This therapy has been found effective for treating anxiety and depression. Learn to make choices that align with your values and move you towards the life you want to live.

Mindfulness Skills

Do you overreact or become overwhelmed by life stressors? Bringing mindfulness skills into practice can help. Mindfulness can reduce stress, improve mood, and increase self awareness. Learn to be aware of your thoughts and feelings in the moment, without judgment. Learn to accept how you think and feel, without labeling thoughts and feelings as "right" or "wrong". Mindfulness skills lead to new ways of responding to life stressors. You can learn to respond in ways that make your proud of yourself!

Family Counselling

Family counselling can help improve communication and reduce conflict within your familly. We can help your family members better understand each another and learn skills to bring you closer together.

This may involve all or some family members.

Solution Focused Therapy

Solution Focused Therapy is short term, goal oriented, and focused on the solution not the problem. This therapy is respectful, practical, and hopeful. If you are looking for solutions related to current life challenges at work, school, or in relationships, this might be for you.

Exposure and Response Prevention

This is a type of CBT that has been proven effective in treating Obsessive Complusive Disorder (OCD). With your counsellor, you learn to confront the thoughts, images, objects and situations that make you anxious, while resisting the compulsion(s). This takes time and often some creativity! While OCD can be very unique, treatment typically takes 12-20 sessions. Essentially, we want you to learn to be the one in charge!

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Have you experienced a traumatic incident and struggle with upsetting memories? EMDR focuses on traumatic memories, working to change how the memory is stored in the brain, which can help decrease problematic symptoms. EMDR treatment is typically 6-12 sessions. Find a happier, healthier you.

Person Centered Therapy

Without judgement, your counsellor listens to your story and seeks to understand your point of view. The counsellor is authentic and genuine, accepts you as you are, and works to accurately understand how you are feeling. This is a non-directive approach, the relationship between you and the counsellor is the key to success.
