Nicha Angkanawin, MCP, RCC
Registered Clinical Counsellor #15744
I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. Using a range of evidence-based treatments, I provide in-person, telephone, and video counselling to individual youth (age 13+) and adults.
I hold strong values and beliefs that individuals can learn new coping skills and become empowered to work towards their goals. I am here to support my clients to take steps to reach their success, whatever “success” means for each of them. Aside from being a supportive and good listening human, I am also a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
I support clients from diverse backgrounds to develop self-compassion and to discover strengths to cope with challenges in their lives. I have experience working with a variety of presenting issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, LGBTQ+ related-difficulties, relationship challenges and perfectionism.
I integrate many therapeutic approaches in my practice to ensure that the counselling experience is effective and suitable for each client. The main approaches I use include:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Solution-Focused Therapy
Person-Centered Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)
In addition to English language, I am also fluent in Thai language.
